Weekends 3 & 4
Weekend 3 was a lot of fun. Saturday was Deaf Awareness Day, so there was a lot of putting the translators to the test! No matter what the challenge, though, they all did a fantastic job. And now we all know how to say "nipples" in sign language!!
Weekend 4 was Pirate Invasion - a particular favorite of mine! I guess it stands to reason that Captain Morgan was the stand-out show on Saturday! Near the end, when the Captain gives Bluebeard a "hot, sexy kiss", the women went for it - then when Scaramouche said "no, like that one time in the dorm room", they went for it AGAIN! With much more ... uh ... enthusiasm! Always great when they play along, but this was a particularly feisty trio.Actually, I probably should have used the term "stand-out" for the R-rated show. It seems there may have been a bit of wardrobe malfunction at some point during Raphael's "piercings" ... I don't know exactly what transpired (my vantage point isn't always the best), but a couple of comments referred to how to handle the "fallout".
Weekend 5
Well, we are now past the halfway point ... which means the season is wrapping up soon *boo* and the members-only FC Meet-and-Greet is almost here *yay* (Has everyone joined/renewed their membership yet? I hope so...!)The shows were great fun this weekend - I seem to recall an Island Queen that could do a mean hula - and the guys were on point - except when Scaramouche actually did drop his sword!  That was Saturday afternoon's R-rated show, while D'Angelo and Raphael were discussing whether they were trained professionals or had been professionally trained. At the latter, Raphael motioned toward Scaramouche and said "obviously, not even that!"Sunday's R-rated show saw an impromptu visit from Hey Nunnie Nunnie. The Nuns just happened to walk past the stage as the guys were stripping off their shirts. Sister Philomena Claire came up on stage and gave each of the Tortugas a sound swat across their backsides (I presume it was a ruler in her hand, all things considered) then said something about giving them some enlightenment. D'Angelo said "after that treatment, there'll be a little something extra in the collection plate!" Of course, our boys did not learn their lesson. A few minutes later, Scaramouche told a young man in the audience to "go ahead and start calling me daddy ... cuz your mother's going to ...!"
Weekend SIX! Â There are only two weekends left, boys and girls.
Week Six?!? Seriously??? There are only two weekends left to enjoy the amazing sights, sounds and smells of the Arizona Ren Faire?? Not to mention the weather ... ! Why do the good times always go by so fast? *sigh*We had an amazing time last weekend - Celtic weekend. One fan casually mentioned to me that we need to get the Tortugas into kilts - which I said I would not complain about should it happen, though I did not pass along this request to the guys. 🙂My favorite bit from a show this week happened during Big Bad Wolf. It was the part where Raphael says Little Red Riding Hood burst in then tells the person playing Red to "burst, lady, burst!" This particular lady burst her arms back and forth repeatedly, prompting Raphael to say "Wow! Multiple times!" to which Scaramouche replied, "Oh, that doesn't happen!!" Of course, the other shows were just as fun. Some days, in fact, I can barely keep up with the R-rated show's antics!!Our Members-Only Meet & Greet is coming up in just over a week, and we are thrilled to welcome our new members to the family.
Up next...weekend Seven!
