Our new RV (well, new to us) made the trip easily enough to Charlotte. I’m gonna have to put a nav system in it. I didn’t realize how dependent I’d become on it for long trips. I’ll tell ya, it was cool being able to hand off driving and get up to use the toilet at 60 mph. I could get used to this drivable RV thing!
The only problem so far with the RV is the fact that the festival had no place to put us. It’s a fairly sizeable rig and with many of the entertainers getting RV’s and some of them large, demands for space and electricity are more than they have room for. So, we are staying off site at a trailer park. It’s a quiet little mobile home and RV park about 20 min from the site. I would stay here again. The neighbors and management are all very nice.
It’s October! And you know what that means? That’s right! It’s Halloween time! A chance to enjoy my favorite holiday. This year my Halloween partying will be scaled back due to Jessica being “with childâ€. I am usually all over the map trying to go to as many events as possible but I think this year we may just go to one.
This year we’re going to a Zombie Crawl. It’s where a bunch of people dress up like zombies and wander around the streets of a town or city, stopping here and there for drinks along the way. I think they are in almost every state now. I know the one in Minneapolis is gigantic!
This was a smaller crawl but the organizers are huge fans of the Tortugas so they had us as guests of honor. That was pretty cool. We also ran into a bunch of fans as well… also a bonus.
Hopefully next year I’ll be able to get back to my usual Halloween events such as Universal Studio’s Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando and some random costume parties or contests. That is providing we can find a sitter. That’s right! I said it. I’m gonna need a sitter... Holy Crap! I’m gonna need a babysitter!
It’s still hard to believe I’m gonna have a little rug rat to deal with soon, but I’m so excited. Did I mention it’s a girl??? I don’t think I did. So, that’s two months of revelations for ya!
Not much else has been going on this month. We are feverishly working on the Christmas show. If sales continue like they are we’re gonna sell out fast. And, with Decorating Elves Season right around the corner we’re gonna have a very busy holiday season.
Well, that’s about it for October. I hope you all have a great holiday and we’ll see ya in November. With only a couple weeks left in the Charlotte fair, the seasons end is just around the corner.
