Which is more than okay by me. It is a blast to be able to perform at my home festival. Opportunity to see friends and fans I've met over the last four seasons. No travel expenses means more cash in my pocket at the end of the weekend. And I get to sleep in my own bed!! How cool is that?
We also had the meet and greet. Jef was down in Florida, so I filled in with Riki and Ronn there as well. It was a lot of fun. Great food, great people. And I simply must go back and beat that new terminator shooter game! Also had fun watching some of our female fans play a Dance Dance Revolution knock off, thank you, Chelsea. O:-)
Oh, and I'm told that someone wants a rematch at air hockey. I'm calling you out, Virginia. 🙂
Then it was on to Louisiana. I drove down for Thanksgiving again this year. The dinner was just as good as I remember last year. Fortunately this year I didn't get wrangled into finishing all the half-empty bottles of wine with Bob. So I didn't feel the need for a late afternoon “nap.” Yeah, we'll call it a nap.
The next day at festival—they have Friday performances on Thanksgiving weekend—was miserably cold. And the gate count showed it. Our audiences, and hat, were way down. But it was still good to be back.
The next two days were absolutely gorgeous. Couldn't have asked for more. I have one more weekend to go, and then my season is done. I think it's going to be interesting to see for the final weekend when Jef comes back into town. The Ronn and Riki have spent the last month getting used to my character and delivery. We struggle to make certain things as interchangeable as possible, but it just doesn't always work. Sometimes the way Jef delivers a line just doesn't work for me, and I'll have to say it slightly differently. Sometimes the other guys understand, sometimes it drives the bonkers. And sometimes I'll work to get it as close as what Jef does, other times I'll just continue to drive them crazy. Shhhh, don't tell them.
Take care, and be safe.
