Get used to the idea that death should not matter to us, for good and evil are based on sensation. Death however is the cessation of all sensation, hence Death, ostensibly the most terrifying of all evils has no meaning for us. For as we exist, death will not be present. When Death comes we will no longer be in existence.

Our busy schedule Hiding at Body Worlds |
SO I'm five days late!
Jef got his journal in, not only on time, but early... Andy is going to yell at me... but my official story is I have held out to include some last minute events.
It is Friday night... Due to "Shrub" (George Bush the younger) having decided to up the start time for daylight savings time... and Arizona's stubborn refusal to play along - my clock is all screwed up... I think it is 11:25 pm Florida time.
Bill Maher is tearing some right wing jag-off a new asshole... god love you Bill! And Heather is working at her new desk next to me.
This has been the busiest we have been in a long time.
I won't even tell you about the trailer this month... next month; maybe... by next month it will be a whole freakin' year that I have had a black-water leak in my home...
This has been a time of working for the man, going to dinners, networking with friends (and strippers), transitioning into a new computer (mmmm go vista!), and finally, a night of three parties.
The first photo I want to show you is a photograph of my schedule... my calendar program. Our life has gotten so busy that Heather and I have to schedule a dinner date with old friends three weeks in advance.
You see a trip to LA on the schedule... cancelled... Dinner with Al and Nancy was fun... (Mother and Father goose... GREAT people!) We (and by "we" I mean Heather) cooked dinner for Riki and Jef... You have already seen all the work I'm getting done on my Tattoo.
We actually made it to a few movies... we trekked 106 miles to see 300 on IMAX... best movie I have seen in a long time... and the quotes in this month's journal (both about death, btw) are from our trip to see Body Worlds.
Real human bodies, opened, preserved and displayed for our edification. As we shopped after, my honey peek-a-booed from behind the candy rack.

The desert is beautiful, the site is beautiful... and I climbed onto our roof to take a series of photos and then just for fun I turned it into a slideshow for you kids... I have owned this trailer for four or more years now... and Heather finally convinced me to lower the awning... it makes me a little crazy - if I am home, I'm inside... so why bother? Further, if the awning isn't lowered, it can't be damaged by the wind... but I have to tell you, having a covered porch is really nice, and the added shade keeps the trailer cool in the desert sun.
Did I tell you my trailer still isn't fixed?

We made it to the mall at least once... where we discovered something weird.
Our doglette is named Jazmine... but when the book Memoirs Of A Geisha came out, Heather started calling her (the dog I mean) Momo, (short for Hatsumomo... duh!)
So how cool it was to find a store named just for our puppy!
Somewhere in here Jef and I both had the biz buy us new computers... Riki gets his when he decides what he's getting... and we're all using them to edit video and whatnot on our new projects... transferring all the old data and programs has been a long, arduous, and aggravating process. The new machine is FAST, vista is swanky... but there's LOADS of programs and devices that malfunction on this system... and I keep coming up with stuff I forgot to transfer... arrrrgh!
So with Heather working all the time, and me working all the time... and three animals in the house it has been untidy, and chaotic in our lives... London has been eating kitten food... and getting fatter. Berlin has been running the whole house... and scurrying around like crazy. She stalks the doglette when she comes back from pooping... and really likes to pester the ever-widening London. Sleep is at a premium in our house these days... London sleeps on Heather's head most nights now. Momo always sleeps next to "mommy" and Berlin/babycat has discovered the joys of sleeping on Heather in the family bed - (an experience I am definitely a proponent of).
But to me the funniest thing is watching the two kitties wrestle... London barely holds her own.

I mentioned scheduling with dear friends? One of my oldest and dearest friends here in the "Valley of the Sun" is the incredible Nancy. She and her Mom invited us to dinner... and after a couple of reschedules, and a few weeks anticipation ... we got to have an amazing dinner with Nancy, her mom, and us.
Yum!
The house was beautiful, the company was scintillating, the food was amazing... and Heather left REALLY wanting to own a house, and garden...
I also would like to point out that Heather has completely settled in here in this life. She actually drove me out of our house and home - just so she could have a girl's night. The Twins used this as a meeting time... we worked on the scripts for our new comedy project... and were served dinner by this amazingly charming little waitress (from Hawaii, no less!)
And then since I wasn't allowed to go home to the drunken girls yet, we decided to kill time at a movie. Riki wimped out, and wouldn't see the creepy ventriloquism-dummy movie (and I'm the girly one!) so what should we see?
Ninja Turtles baby!
For those who know, for both better and worse we will always have ties to the Turtles... and it was amazing to watch this movie, all about the importance of brotherhood BTW, with my brothers. What fun. And funnily enough - the folks we asked to take this photo for us recognized us too!

Somewhere in here Heather and I decided that the proverbial "enough was enough." So we shut off our phones, and took a long drive.
Just north of our location is the Superstition Mountains, the Tonto National Forest (How, Kemosabe!) somewhere out there is the Lost Dutchman mine... and a HUGE dam called the Roosevelt Dam. The dam creates a miles-long lake, or series of lakes and I decided that we were punching off the clock and gong exploring.
Tortilla Flat was both cheesy and beautiful... a few miles past there the highway turns to unpaved... mostly one-lane, treacherous, and so frightening that Heather almost shot me.
She also LOVED the Cactus flowers... so she took oodles of photos... and our puppy helped.
I intentionally dressed like a cowboy dude... boots, slick shirt and all. I should have worn a hat too... but I don't have one. The dog is not a very good fashion accessory.
Finally we reached the dam. And Heather forgave me. The structure was amazing... both the concrete one and Heather's and at least the slippery, scary, drive back was less terrifying than the trip out.

The next day (Wednesday) was the "day of three parties." The first was of an old dear friend Allie-Rae, her birthday was that day... so we took her and her fella out to Thai lunch.
After a bit of shopping and some errands (including a brief excursion to the porn store) I dropped Heather off, and hot-footed it to the Members-Only meet and greet.
Andy has asked us to not include more than about ten photos... and I am running about fifteen right now. So I am only including one photo of great fan and friend Kristen J. If you like what has become of our new gallery... thank her! Kirsten is the blond... and those girls made me feel so ...
Nah, not really! The Meet n' Greet was great. I have grown to love this time we share with our fans... and I had a lovely time. I drank a little too much... gave some advice to a very nice adult woman (remember what I said kiddo!)
And then finally it was off to the third party of the night. Funky Formal, Arizona 2007.
The theme was 'red'.
My baby looked amazing, there were pretty people everywhere, lots of drinking and wild times... even a naughty group of five folks having raunchy sex in the men's room.

All that really mattered to me was I danced like a fiend with the sexiest girl in the place... my thighs are still hurting two days later, and went home with the girl of my dreams...
And yes we woke with hangovers, and went back to work again.
It is almost eleven my time... and I have a hot Asian babe to accost... so until next month.
