Time to start the 2015 Festival season!
Time to get back to work! It’s been since October since I performed with the guys. Hell, it’s been since October since I’ve done ANY kind of performing. Let’s all hope there IS such thing as muscle memory.
Guess what? I remembered all my lines! It’s like we’ve been doing this for 29 years! LOL It’s nice to be back to work. I miss making people laugh. It’s why we do what we do after all. The opening weekends have been great! I think this is gonna be a really strong season. With gas prices down everyone has a few more bucks to spend.
With AZ up and running I was able to focus on getting the Blue team started at the Bay Area Ren Fair in Tampa, Fl. It’s the fair the Tortugas got their start at. We were bought away from that show 20 years ago but when we got the Blue team up and running we were able to send a crew back to our home show.
Other than that, the only other event of note was our visit to Tucson to visit Jes’s grandparents. It is only an hour and a half away but we decided to stay for a couple nights. Her grandparents are really cool and super sweet. I think it’s amazing that Mia gets to know her Great Grandparents! I only got to know my Grandmothers and that was only for a short time. I hope Mia is blessed with family for a very long time.
While in Tucson we took Mia to the Children’s museum. She had a blast! I didn’t think we’d ever get her out of there. There were so many displays and attractions! We even stumbled upon a cool little class that did crafts and played with Play-Doh. (One of her favorites) She got to make a Jellyfish out of some streamers and a paper plate with some googly eyes. She was very proud! (As was I)
Other than that it’s been a pretty chill month. Next month won’t be so quiet. March is our annual pilgrimage to Las Vegas for St. Patty’s Day. It promises to be a great time! Till next month!!
