Here we are, the start of another 11 weeks of touring and performing. Next up for Blue is the Michigan Renaissance Festival. Â We had a great time there last year, performing on the Tree Top Stage with Bocca Muisca.
This year they've moved us to the Griffon stage. Â Which is a pirate ship stage. Â Why they named a pirate ship stage the Griffon Stage I have no idea, but I'm not going to worry about it. Â We share the stage with Ded Bob, which is always fun. Â And so far, the move has been very good for us. Â The better stage, and being a return act, both audiences and tips have been up so far this year. Â Which given the price of jet fuel is always a good thing.
It's also our first chance to perform with Jamey, aka Dante Tortuga, our newest brother. Â He's great. Â We still need to work on some timing issues, but he has a strong street cast background, so his lane work is first notch. Â And he's certainly not hard on the eyes either (I hate him). Â Ironically now both teams have a "dark" Tortuga, lol. Â Ladies, you definitely want to come out and check this guy out. Â Some of the gents as well.
But it wasn't all roses. Â When we showed up at the campground, it turns out that the cabin that was to be reserved for us wasn't. Â Instead an RV space was. Â None of us have an RV. Â So the festival is still scrambling trying to find us someplace to live for the run of the show, but they're taking care of us until then, so no major complaints there.
My gym work is getting harder to manage.  I was in the middle of a strength program, but with touring I'm only able to lift two days a week, and I just don't think that's giving my the physiological response that I need.  So I'm going to go back to metcon workouts and start the strength program back up when this round of travel is done.  It gets frustrating I tell you.
