On this day when America celebrates our heroes in the armed forces we'd like to share a touching email the Twins received recently and their response that followed.
"Sir,
I just wanted to say thank you again for taking a moment to speak with me today. It was truly a pleasure. I didn't have the chance to speak with Riki or Jef, but I hope you will pass this along to them as well.
As I mentioned earlier, I was part of the 82 Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg. I was injured by an IED during my third deployment to Iraq in May of 2007. During my recovery time at Walter Reed, one of the ways I coped with what had happened was humor. Whether it was at myself, at friends I made while I was there, or even at what had happened to me, I found ways to laugh. One of the biggest and best sources of laughter was the three of you. I had a copy of Spies that I bought from the NC Ren Fest a while back (I try to always make it out there to see you guys perform), and I lost count of how many times I watched those two DVDs. No matter what kind of mood I was in, the three of you were always able to cheer me up. It's in part to you guys that I was able to make it through that time with my sanity intact. So I wanted to say thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
I'd like to add that I got to see Troy Story today. It was absolutely brilliant. Also.....Food Lion. Rawr.
Thank you again.
Sincerely,
Sgt. Shane Heath, Ret."
The Twins response:
"Shane
It is so silly to say "thanks for your service" or "We honor your sacrifice"Man! Words are not enough.
We are glad we could help in any small way.
We're glad you are back home, back with your family and even back with us.You did a hero's job over there and are a hero every day to your family and to the three clowns who will always strive to make you laugh.
Happy Veteran's Day
Ronn, Riki and Jef"
