This month we have our Arizona meet and greet, enjoy the coast to coast drive to Florida to do the last week of Tampa and start the Georgia Renaissance Festival.
This month was kinda slow. Slow in a lot of ways. Slow 'cuz not anything fun really happened. Slow 'cuz the weather to start Georgia sucked! Slow 'cuz of the measure of the speed at which money is filtering into our personal and business accounts.
I have to say the country's economy and high gas prices are really taking a toll on business. Georgia has never been our biggest money maker, but numbers are really down for this show. We've had rain almost every weekend. You add all that up and you've got some poor comedians.
Alright, enough whining... Remember the movie "Say Anything"? It starred John Cusack and featured the song "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel. Well, "In Your Eyes" is our wedding song. Last week we ordered some Chinese food and Sharon went to pick it up. I was watching TV when I heard noise coming from outside. I turned the TV down so I could hear it better as the sound got louder. It then became obvious. Sharon was playing our song loudly outside from her car stereo. I walked outside to the stairway landing and saw Sharon holding the bag of Chinese food in two hands over her head like John Cusack did with the boom box in the movie. How cool is that?!! I know it doesn't make any sense to those of you that haven't seen the movie, but for those of you that have... you know how cool that was.

Meet and Greet Welcome
At the Meet and Greet - I
I write this as I visit my house in Florida for the last time this season. After this we leave for Colorado, Minnesota, North Carolina and finally Louisiana. My journal is almost a month late. Considering how little happened this month I have no excuse. I've been good as of late. I haven't been this late in quite some time. Hopefully it's an isolated instance.

I've spent much of this last month trying to figure out what I was going to do after the Georgia show. Since we aren't doing Ohio anymore and the potential Oregon show isn't open yet, we have no work after Georgia until Minnesota. Sharon and Heather have work in Colorado, but Ronn, Riki and I are gonna flounder around. Well, it turns out Ken Wilson from Excalibur Leather needed a manager for his new leather booth in Colorado. So, guess what? Yours truly is now a vendor. I'll be running Ken's booth. It's not performing but it's a job. It's gonna be weird being at a show and not performing. I've only done it 2 or 3 days in my life. But that will be fodder for another month's journal.
Just before we left Arizona we had our fan meet and greet. It was held at Gameworks just like last year. We had a great turn-out. It was even better than last year. We got lots of new members this year. Everyone had a wonderful time but the server got the wrong info and put everyone's drinks on our tab. We caught it, but not before some of the people had already left. Oh well, just another day in "don't have any money world." The universe is truly testing us.

On my way to Florida, I stopped by the Louisiana site to check our Dungeon and games. Everything looked good. I finished the trip in record time since I wanted to get home to see the wife so badly.
The Tampa show went great. Our fans were so happy to have us back. We got to introduce one of the new B-team guys, which was great since we should be bringing them there in '09. Of course we got rained on the last day. I mean torrential wrath of God type rain. Just another rainy day in the lives of the Tortugas. It's gotta end eventually, right?

GA faire Rainbow - I
GA faire Rainbow - II
Apparently, that rain was just a taste of what was to come. In five weeks at the Atlanta show we've had four weeks of rain. Shoot me now! (Just kidding.) They say every cloud has a silver lining. Well, I haven't seen any silver lining, 'cuz if I did I'd sell it to pay bills. But we did have a beautiful double rainbow after one of the rains in Georgia. One of the few pretty weather events I've experienced recently. (Click for WMV rainbow video) -(Click for RealMedia rainbow video)
Please pray for sun.
