Time to move the family east to the A-T-L!
This month we head to Atlanta to start the Georgia Renaissance Festival. That will put us within striking distance of Florida where I have some unfinished business.
Our cross country trip went well. We got to visit some friends and made solid time. Once in Atlanta we set up shop and set up our home on wheels. It’s nice having “our place†no matter where in the country we are. Eventually we will settle down when Mia is older and it will be weird being in a stationary house once again.
After the opening weekend of GA I had to make the first of several trips to Florida. This one was for my final divorce hearing. Sharon and I have been split up for two years now. But, if you have been divorced or know how this stuff goes, it’s usually a long process of legal papers in a nearly endless game of pong between lawyers. I’m glad that we can finally put this chapter behind us and move on with our lives. I wish Sharon all the happiness she deserves.
While in Atlanta we also continued putting the finishing touches on our Christmas DVD. There are some scenes that we just didn’t think were strong enough to make it to the final print. But, we added some stuff that wasn’t in the show. So if you were at the live show, there will still be surprises for you in the DVD.
After the third weekend of Georgia, another weekend of rain by the way, we made a trip to Minnesota so Jes’ family could meet Mia. Her grandparents and mother were dying to meet her. It was a great visit! Mia had her first airplane ride. A ride she slept almost completely thru, btw. (Thank God) She also was introduced to the Mall of America. I’m sure she’ll spend a lot of time there in years to come.
While there we planned a little “Meet Mia†get together at a local TGI Friday’s by the Mall of America. A bunch of our close MN friends showed up to meet our little bundle of joy. Thanks to all of you for making her feel welcome. And, WTF Minnesota?... What’s up with the snow in late April???
After our visit with family and friends, I had to leave early and head to Florida for a private party. I flew straight there and Jes and Mia stayed another couple days before flying in to GA where I would pick her up. But my Florida trip is a story for next month. Here’s hoping Minnesota gets to see some summer weather soon!
See ya in May!
