This may be my shortest journal I'll write to date.
Heather and I are leaving VERY early in the morning to fly off to Key West... We'll be there a week... We're eloping!
Next month's journal will (of course) cover that.
I also have sixty five photos from our trip (and tribulations) for MagiQuest - but that is for the travel journal I'll write after we get back.
I also have some other pretty cool stuff to tell you guys... but you'll have to wait, if your membership is about to expire now's the time to renew, baby!
It is Wednesday, July 25, 2007 - We're sitting behind a ceramics shop, in an industrial complex in Arden Hills, a northern suburb of Minneapolis. The shop is owned by Heather's boss/my friend Jack. Like I did at my mother's plantation, I paid an electrician to wire the place with an outside RV plug... Unlike at my mother's, the electrician did it properly.
The air conditioning works, the tanks don't leak.
Wow.
We stayed for about three days in a hotel in Georgia while we got our ‘House' fixed... the total bill was over three grand... about half of which was covered by the warranty. How wonderful that during the summer when I wasn't working, I had this expense!
Our trip from Georgia to Minneapolis also had a brief layover in Charlotte... our original plan was time with Frankie, and Mrs. D... but the schedule didn't work out. We DID get to spend some time with friend, fan-club-honcho, all-around awesome chick Sharyn. This trip we did something we haven't before... we actually PAID to stay in a campground during the trip. We spent a mere 30 smackers, hooked up only electric, but had AC to sleep, and a shower in the morning. We'll do this again.
The rest of the trip was uneventful, easy even... we stopped for sure in Madison Wisconsin... no campground, just a Home Depot parking lot... and arrived on a Sunday here, in the twin cities.
Jack is the coolest guy in-the-world... more friend, family than boss. He helped us get situated, took us to lunch, and gave us the keys. I'll have to get you some photos of the set up we have here... we're essentially parked in the second loading dock of the shop... the weirdest thing is the only way to get the satellite signal was to mount the dish on the top of our cargo trailer...

After the main party we broke-off, Ronn, Heather, Eric, Alisa, and the ever ebullient Robert went to see fireworks... WOW! Robert was kind enough to point the camera.
Part of why we're staying in the industrial loading dock, is so Heather doesn't have to drive to work... the fact that it is free makes it so much sweeter... not like we get much time for her to work... It's a good thing that I have the summer off, with as much travelling as I'm doing.

There's more to this trip... coming soon.
Shortly after I returned from the steamy south, it was time to load up the car, drive through the windy plains of IOWA (which does crazy things to your hair!) to see the DVD filming and concert of our dear friends, The Jolly Rogers. It was in-fact one of the Jolly Rogers who was responsible for Heather and I getting together again. The show was great, and we took it in with Heather's other best friend Tonya and her husband. They also went with us for one of my favorite things... introduced to me by my delicate flower of the orient... DIM SUM! Guys you totally have to try these amazing dishes...

It means "little treasures" |
We returned to Minneapolis, Heather worked a bunch... I don't know what I did... we had dear friends over to Dinner (that's YOU Chad and Kay!) Did a trip to Mall of America --- shopping, and an unexpected attack by the infamous LANDSHARK! (See, I warned you Defeos!). And a few days later, after some more work... returned for brunch with the Chad and Kay guys again... and even took photos of a SPAM CASTLE!
