Okay, I'm back; sitting in a Laundromat, (London peed the bed again) Hung over, laptop plugged in so I can write you kids!
I finally got home at about 5:15 am. One of the directors on the video we were shooting last night also arranged for us to have a limo (which later turned into a huge Party Bus) for the shoot. She' exaggerated our celebrity a bit, (and having a full-on film crew adds to the rock-star mystique) I then ended-up. well let's just say I continued the rock-star thing all the way into someone else's bed. 'Nuff said for now (but wow!)
Okay it's now what, three weeks later? Shit! I'm gonna finish this up so we can send out this set of updates to Stephanie.
I'm sitting in the passenger seat of my big Black Pick-up; I find it so funny that I drive such a macho vehicle! Right now however Riki is driving. Its Friday night, whoops! Thursday, October 16, 2003 and I actually got confused as to what day it was! Riki driving makes me nervous, he has a little tiny truck, and - well it just makes me nervous. We are returning from a trip to Louisiana, more on that in a minute, guess I should catch you up.
All of the video shoots went well, the last few days of Minnesota went well, the trip to Charlotte went uneventfully (Love My massive truck Love my massive new Trailer!) The first weekend of Charlotte went great, record opening day, and it will only get better. This place seems like home to me, I think I will eventually buy land here, but who knows?
After the first weekend of Charlotte, Jef and I went Down to Florida. Lots of stuff to do there, had to put a few suggestions in to the builders of the New Bay area Site,You guys who were worried about missing the Old Site are gonna love it. But it wasn't JUST business, Oh No. I HAD to call some of my friends all over the country, especially the ones that live in cold climes, as after a tortuously long drive, after a hard weekend (we left late Sunday night- later than planned even since Jef vigorously attempted to crack his own skull open on his trailer hitch) I was spending Monday morning pleasantly drunk on margaritas, sitting poolside overlooking the bay in Florida ahhh! Much partying was done, including the night of Sushi and Strippers. My best friend in the world, John, looks to be getting hitched in a year and a half, he, his lovely Venezuelan hottie and I were chatting about it at the Sushi place that's catering our event- then off to one of the clubs I used to DJ at. Lots of drunken fun ensued, and the party after was enough to make me swear off drinking, and other stuff, until next time of course!
Weekend two of Charlotte was great, (actually Saturday was crap, Sunday was awesome) then after a brief respite, Riki, Jef, and I got into my truck and made the 12and a half hour drive to Louisiana. There is a little Festival down there where besides performing, I own a maze, and We (The Twins) own the Rose business. I have been doing the roses in Charlotte for years, nice little side biz, that makes us some extra scratch, I built the maze a few year ago in Lou, and we are Now expanding with Mazes and Roses in the New bay Area show - We are eventually gonna be Moguls! With that in mind we traveled down to the Bayou to set up some games we designed and built. I actually had to go buy a set of power tools (again, this incredible display of Macho, coming from ME unmakes me giggle!) Here's a funny note: The man who oversees all of our side businesses for us, is my ex-wife's new husband. The work itself went well, Jef did most of the design work, since none of us has any carpentry experience, but Jef has a little knowledge- Riki and I did the various assembly and grunt work.
Actually there is a bit of a victory here; I have always had a problem making things, I cut crookedly, or measure incorrectly, but new tools in hand I actually did a great Job.
My two favourite moments from the trip however were not the work, though it went smoothly, or the end result, though the games came out pretty nice really, Nope I liked best hanging with my brothers after work.
Louisiana has DRIVE THRU DAQUIRI BARS! So, hot, sweaty, covered in sawdust, each night we stopped for Daiquiris. The first night leads to us invading a fine restaurant, drinking too much (damn shots) having one of those Tortugas reminiscing and telling secrets sort of nights I love.
The second night, another daiquiri place, and we convinced the guy to let us Bring in our VCR (we had the place to ourselves) Order pizza and wings, and watch the (taped from Sunday) Buccaneers game - Go Bucs!
We are gonna get home around two am, or later, I'll pet and play with the cat for awhile, she's been really behaving herself lately, so I have been letting her back in the room with me - of course with all of this travel, god only knows what I'll find when I get home. I have been shutting her out of the bedroom, but she has learned how to open the door!
Tomorrow, I have to do laundry, pick up roses for the business this weekend, go see a movie, maybe try to hook-up with the beautiful Asian waitress I have wanted to date for two years, but Sunday night we are all driving down to Florida for our annual foray to Halloween Horror nights.
Busy, but I hope this tides you over.
Next time, hmmmm How about Asian Girls and stripper shoes?
