Dear Journal, we've finished week 2 of Minnesota. Let me tell you something! It's supposed to be frosty up here but it's 90+ degrees! What's up with that? Other than the temperature, it's been a fairly good run so far. Gate is down a bit, (due to the heat) but our loyal fans have showed up in droves! Thanks! As I said, last week Sharon's best friends Anne and Amy visited last week. It was quite the drunken visit. We had a great time. We spent the first two days at the Mall Of America! If you haven't been there I highly recommend it! Its 3 levels of shopping around an indoor amusement park called 'Camp Snoopy'. It's HUGE! It also has a fourth level of Entertainment. Jillian's, Knuckleheads Comedy Club, Gator's, Player's, Hooter's, America's Sports Bar, and Planet Hollywood are all contained in that level. That's plenty of places to eat and drink in my book.
*FYI* I love to shop! I know a guy that likes to shop? I love to go shopping with Sharon and throw stuff at her to try on. Or, I just hit best buy or some electronics store and drool over all the new toys. I am a gadget freak after all. I'm definitely in touch with my inner personal shopper. I rarely pass up a chance to hit a local mall. Come on, the mall is a huge part of American society! Where else can you buy underwear, have a drink, eat a pretzel covered in artificial cheese, watch a movie, and play with a miniature r/c car all in one afternoon!
Wednesday night we decided to go to the "Gay 90's". It's a well-known gay club in downtown Minneapolis. We actually know some people that work there. They're performers in the drag show. It was "amateur night". That means that other performers are interspersed with the regular cast. And then, the audience votes on which "amateur" gets to return to perform with the regular cast the next night. What a great time! Let me tell you something. Speaking as a Regular, open minded, heterosexual man, some of those performers were HOT! If you ever get the chance to go to a really GOOD drag show, do it! All the people there are so fun and easy going. The gay community is so much less uptight that the straight. They're really much better at poking fun at each other than straight people with the exception of a very few. Anyway, a great time was had by all. Everyone but me, the designated driver, was pretty wasted. I got some good before and after pictures of the gals. The next day the girls had lunch and then Sharon put them on the plane back to Florida. It was GREAT to see them but THANK GOD they're gone! Although very experienced, my liver can only take so much!
